I was approached by an author who was looking for an illustrator, layout designer, and cover artist who could help create an etiquette textbook following the elevated style of Tea magazines.
Through the design process, I created dozens of diagrams and painted illustrations to spread throughout the pages of etiquette concepts that were never found outside of simple line drawings. These designs then came together into the cover and pages that now define the author's brand for their business.

The client wanted to frame each concept with as elegantly as possible so we began this process by determining the patterns that would appear throughout the pages, similar to a floral tea set complete with a unique fleur de lis.

The placement diagrams for seating charts and tableware were meticulously made to match the proper alignments that have been taught for centuries.

After deciding on a framing layout pattern for each chapter to follow, I weaved the illustrations into the pages alongside photography. The pages were then reviewed and approved by the author for technical accuracy and the book was published.
